The televisions in our homes have been there now for over 50 years and there have been many advancements in this technical product. The newer technology in these HDTV and Plasma televisions is called Progressive Scanning. This is why the picture is so much clearer on these TV's, the whole picture is displayed instead of the traditional fuzzy appearance of the older horizontal and vertical lines showing half a picture at a time. With the new picture ability your television watching is much more enjoyable.

The sound from an HDTV or Plasma television is an additional great benefit on this technology. All TV's can have better sound if they're hooked up to external speakers but these newer TV's put out a better sound without the external help. It's due to the digital signal that feeds the audio, this provides a crisp, clean sound. In addition they have a surround sound ability that the traditional television can't match.
